11 Jul GRATITUDE CAN TRULY BE SIMPLE
SIMPLE JOYS: GRATITUDE CAN TRULY BE SIMPLE.
We must embrace gratitude. Here are some steps toward simple forms of gratitude.
Simply open your heart to embrace them.
Dance with life, find different beats and rhythms.
Appreciate the good things in your life. It’s all about how you see things.
Acknowledge the positives. Also acknowledge the neutrals.
Share your appreciation with others. Celebrate it.
Open yourself to opportunities and opportunities will open up to you.
Be creative with your thoughts and your actions.
Accept challenges as opportunities to exercise your skills.
Embrace the special moments and feel the joy of excitement and anticipation.
Do what you really love to do. Move forward in life proudly, freely, joyfully, with your heart and your arms wide open. Gratitude can truly be simple.
AN ABUNDANCE OF APPRECIATION
Have you heard the saying: appreciation is food for the soul.
Share it with others. And keep an abundant supply. Let it be like that packet of Tim Tams that we like to believe as the commercial suggests ‘never run out’.
BE SURE TO NOTICE
Look closely and you will find amazing simplicity. Keep your heart open to life’s amazing moments. Consider that there are major sources of amazing moments that are created by you and abundantly available in some form. Just be there to notice them. To notice is key.
Positive human interaction like a hug or a kind word or a helping hand should be at offer. Perhaps a chat with a friend or a family member. Positive interaction with nature is also useful. Its worth it. You know there’s a great impact in words.
Listen to the sea or the leaves moving on a tree, smelling the grass on a sunny day, a flower, or the smell of cut grass or rain. See how gratitude can truly be simple.
How about positive connection through playing games, sport, physical activity, interaction through play, games, and movement.
This is like achieving a goal. Learning a new skill or your best effort.
Positive personal discovery or creativity. This is designing and creating and discovering new ways of doing, being and experiencing. How exciting. Imagine how fun this can be. Nothing to be afraid of. In fact you can choose to be excited about something new.
Embrace it. Gratitude can truly be simple.
Positive physical sensations such as a warm bath, clean clothes, a relaxing walk, a gentle breeze, sunshine, warm drink.
Relaxation consists of calm peaceful moments of rest and peace. Did you know all hypnosis is self hypnosis.
Connect yourself with the breath.
Keep imagining that you are experiencing all the amazing moments in your life that you have not experienced yet. Be excited. Sounds interesting doesn’t it. Look at yourself with potential.
CHOOSE YOUR EMOTIONS
Gratitude can truly be simple. If you take on the belief that you can choose your focus from moment to moment and you believe that you have the ability to choose your emotional state at any given moment then you must realise that you can choose appreciation and gratitude whenever you want to. When you head towards gratitude it turns into a relief.
SHIFTING FOCUS: gratitude can truly be simple.
If we shift our focus to what we can appreciate at any moment, even as we consider how a situation could be worse, then we are working towards gratitude. When we build our skills to consciously make a choice, and we move toward action, we move away from dissatisfaction. Now imagine that feeling for a moment.
So how can you experience more appreciation and gratitude every day? There are many ways you can implement daily amazing moments. Rather popular is a gratitude journal where you just write down a few things each day. Keep in mind gratitude can truly be simple. Or you can make up your own rule that suits you, like a certain amount of days per week or once a week or whatever suits you.
COMMITMENT AND CONSISTENCY
A routine or ritual is a great idea, so choose one that works for you and be consistent. I tend to work with 2 key words for pretty much everything in my life. These words are ‘commitment’ and ‘consistency’. These words work for everything… diet, exercise, study, journalling, meditating, socialising, and anything else that you can think of.
You can implement your own morning or evening or weekly gratitude ritual where you think of or count as you walk or before you rise or when you meditate etc.. You can volunteer to support others who are not as fortunate as you and you can move your focus to other people. Do what you need for wellness.
The moment you take your focus from what you want or what you believe you lack, you create movement.
Take it further and decide how you can support others.
