DESTRESS WITH A MINDFUL SHOWER: INSTRUCTIONS:
DESTRESS WITH A MINDFUL SHOWER to soothe your feelings of stress, worry and anxiety. It’s time to stress less.
This is a mindful activity designed to calm you /wash it away. Beware the worry trap.
Close your eyes: DESTRESS WITH A MINDFUL SHOWER
Visualise your bathroom
Place yourself in there (using your own mind’s eye)
Imagine the following sequence of mindful events:
- Place your clothes in the laundry basket: the worries that stuck to your clothes get washed later on
- Turn the hot and cold water on in the shower: set the temperature just right for you
- Step into the shower. Lift your head up and feel the pressure of the water massage your face. Allow this to relax you
- After a moment turn around and let the pressure of the water massage your back

- Enjoy this as you focus on your breathing: let it be slow and natural
- Lather soap or shower gel into a shower sponge (visualise your favourite one)
- Begin to massage your body as you cleanse it. Use a circular motion as you practice self care. You allow your stress, anxiety and worry to leave your body and get rinsed away with the soap suds

- Smile as the stress leaves your body, being rinsed off and going down the drain
- Raise your head up and allow the water to rinse you fresh (new water for new moments)
- Allow your smile to stay on your face as you turn off the water and kindly dry yourself with your towel
feeling great
- Feeling fresh and brand new
- Nice and relaxed
- Now you can open your eyes
