THE WAY YOUR BODY TALKS

WHATS YOUR PHYSIOLOGY? 

Take a look at your body language /physiology. Notice the way your body talks. Just as we communicate with ourselves and others through our choice of language and words from moment to moment we are also communicating with ourselves and others via our body language or physiology.

OUR CUES

Our facial expressions, and the way we breathe, where we stand, the way we move, how we hold our head, balance our weight through our stance and hold our spine /our posture… can all say so much more than the words we speak. Notice the way your body talks. And the smallest change in our physiology or body language can be heard loud and clear by ourselves and by others. Look at yourself with potential.

ARE YOU A JUDGE?

Have you ever judged or created an opinion about someone based on nothing they said, but the body language that you notice and interpret. Notice the way your body talks. Mind you, your interpretations will mostly be false.  Have you noticed how many times people think they know what you meant to say, yet they were totally wrong, or they interpret your face and body stance to mean something totally different to what you were truly thinking and feeling at that time.  It can be annoying. Remember you have a purpose.

CONNECTING YOUR MIND AND BODY

So how can you learn to choose body language or physiology to support your self. I want you to know that your mind and your body is completely and fully linked at all times to live a life of mental well-being. Notice the way your body talks. You must simply live a life of physical well-being.

The two can be connected. You need to look after your body. You need to look after your health. If we eat well get quality sleep and enjoy regular physical exercise, then are giving ourselves the best chance to build and maintain our resilience and mental well-being.

TEACH YOURSELF

Education takes you quite a distance. If you need to learn something then do the research. Get yourself educated in the area that you know you will benefit for your individual circumstances. If you want to live a long healthy and happy life you must help yourself in this way.  You must look after yourself.

WHAT COMES FIRST?

What do you think comes first? Our physiology or our emotional state. When you are feeling down emotionally. How do you notice you are holding your body. Chances are your shoulders are slumped and your chin is pointing down and your face could be slack or frowning.

STAND TALL

What about when you are feeling fantastic without consciously thinking about it. You walk tall you smile. Your shoulders are probably back. And your steps are light. You can try something similar for yourself. You can stand up. Or sit up straight. Notice the way your body talks. It’s all about how you see things.

TRY THIS

Place your feet square on the floor. Shoulder width apart with your weight evenly spread. Push your chin out a bit. Break a small smile and place your hands firmly on your hips. Or. On your lap. Hold that pose. Breathe deeply from your tummy. For a whole minute. And once you’ve done that. You can consider how you feel. Notice the way your body talks.

POWER POSE

This is useful to use this power pose just before you go into a meeting or before you go for a job interview. Or anywhere that you need to get yourself in a confident emotional state before the event and consider the outcome. This can be life changing. Or this can help you re energize yourself at any time of the day. Especially if you are about to make an important phone call, or presentation.

POWER OF VISUALIZATION

I would just like you to reflect for a moment, have a think about a time where you could use this strategy and just visualize it. See it in your mind. Think about an event that is coming up in your life that you wanted to feel really confident for.  And just visualize your posture how you can stand what you can do.  This can also be a wonderful and useful message.

Notice the way your body talks. There are many ways that we can use our body language. 

We can change our channels from stressed to calm, from frustration to relaxed, from resentful to grateful, from scattered to focus. 

One thing however, we tend to forget about or underrate is the importance of how we breathe.  SO REMEMBER TO BREATHE.
