I’m an early childhood teacher, a professional counsellor, a clinical hypnotherapist, strategic psychotherapist, NLP master, and a supervisor for other therapists.  

MY SPACE

My therapy space is designed and equipped to accomodate one on one sessions, couples, families and small groups.  I also hold workshops and group sessions (mostly for kids on emotional intelligence topics, but I also hold promotional packages for adults on a regular basis).  If you see inside the Positive Thinking Clinic you will see a caring touch from a therapist.

A CARING TOUCH FROM A THERAPIST: Creating my clinic

There was not an exact moment, however I like to say I evolved into what I am today over many years.  To be fair however I created the positive thinking clinic and decided I needed to create something unique after being trained and inspired by Gordon Young. A ‘caring touch from a therapist’ then designed the right space for change work to take place.

BECOMING AN AUTHOR

There came a time where I decided to write a book on coping skills for kids, and then I also decided to create an online course for kids to master coping skills to help them cope with everyday challenges. Here I thank Maggie Wild.

I did this because in a very short period of time I became the “expert” so to speak, in the area of kids emotional wellness.  This happened due to gaining so much experience and exposure to kids since the early 1990’s.  

But I must say, the real experts are the kids themselves. They have taught me what troubles them and what helps to resolve their areas of concern.

ACHIEVING RELIEF: A CARING TOUCH FROM A THERAPIST

The greatest impact that I have been able to achieve is RELIEF!  This seems to be one of the greatest and most common impacts from my clients, no matter what age.  And the meaning of relief differs for each client.  

  • A child can be relieved that they  now feel safe in their bed, to sleep alone.  
  • A school child may feel relief that they practice courage whilst at school.  
  • A high school student can find relief as they learn skills to focus and concentrate better. 
  • Adults find relief as they give themselves permission to accept, to let go, to forgive, to move on, to make change etc.  
  • Couples find relief as they find their way to communicate effectively.  
  • Families find relief as they find ways to feel heard, understood, and to plan forward.  
  • And the list goes on…relief that there is a plan in place. 
  • All this is made possible from a caring touch from a therapist.

A CARING TOUCH FROM A THERAPIST: BEING UNIQUE

Whats unique about me is that my passion is helping to create change.  This holds for every individual at any age.  I understand that what works for one may not work for another, for instance.  In summary, I’m flexible.  Im creative and I have the courage to try different things to create a great session. Ultimately caring touch from a therapist is an important tool to maintain rapport.

One of my favouring hobbies is continuous learning and professional development.  This means I am always adding to my skills that I use for my clients.  We may use just hypnosis, sand, play dough, art, imagination and more.  We use what works.

A CARING TOUCH FROM A THERAPIST: WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

When you come to me you can expect to discover a new way of experiencing the issue that you have come in with.  You may even notice that other areas of your life improve as a consequence. You will learn to create and discover your own unique methods to leave feeling relieved, empowered and simply … like you have made a change.  In addition you can also expect a caring touch from a therapist.

Perhaps you may be a child suffering nightmares, a teen struggling with the pressures of school, any aged,  faced with anxiety, stress, grief, trauma, unresolved issues, or more.  

You may want to lose weight, stop smoking, create a healthier lifestyle, or make other changes in your life.  This list is endless.

My services may be right for you.  I just may have the tools to teach you to take care of yourself, your emotions, your relationships and your life.
