GROWING MINDFUL 

FOR ALL AGES

In the Positive Thinking Clinic I ensure that no matter what age my client /participant is, 

I teach:

  • awareness, 
  • how to be present in the moment, and 
  • cultivate kindness and curiosity.

One thing that I realise, is that mindfulness is neither difficult, nor easy, but it sure is hard to remember to be mindful.

Following are some of the activities that are used:

SQUARE BREATH

Breathe in for 4 counts

Hold for 4 counts

Breathe out for 4 counts

Hold for 4 counts

…Repeat until you resent your breathing.

THE TREE

Stand tall confidently like a huge tree

Breathing in see yourself as a tree…

Breathing out you feel confident and strong…

…Repeat for 5 breaths.

JUST BE X 3

Breathe in …

Expand your body …

Breathe in …

Expand your mind …

Breathe in …

Expand your view …

MOVING STILLNESS

Take a minute and try to move every muscle in every part of your body at once while holding just one finger perfectly still.

OLD AS NEW

Pick up an object you use every day…

Explore it with your full attention…

And all of your senses until you notice something new about it,

No matter how small.
